Septic System Heads-Up: The Alameda County Environmental Health Department is proposing new regulations that could require property owners to inspect, repair and even replace their septic systems when selling their home. On Wednesday, May 18 at the Martinelli Center in Livermore, the County held the first in a series of public workshops to introduce the proposed regulations. Bay East members and staff participated in the meeting and questioned several of the proposals including the time-of-sale requirement.
The County is holding additional workshops during the next several weeks. Real estate professionals who represent clients with septic systems should attend to learn more about the proposals and share any concerns about time-of-sale requirements.
